Where & when?

Sola Airshow takes place at the military section of Stavanger Airport, Sola. The gates open at 08:00 and close at 18:00 both Saturday and Sunday, with the program starting around 08:30 on both days. Entry is only for pedestrians, wheelchair users, strollers, etc. There is no parking available in or around the Sola Airshow event area; please refer to the designated parking areas on the map at the bottom of this page.

How to get here

We recommend that visitors use public transport whenever possible. We have several parking facilities at Forus where shuttle buses will operate between the event area and the parking facilities on both days.

Hotel

We have an agreement with Quality Airport Hotel Stavanger where pilots and crew stay during Sola Airshow. By contacting the hotel directly by e-mail or phone you will get a 20% discount on your stay.

Information

The bus ride takes approximately 15 minutes each way. The first departure from Forus is around 08:00, and the last departure from Sola is around 18:30.

Arrival by car

If you plan to come by car, you must use our parking facilities at Forus, where shuttle buses will operate to and from Sola Airshow throughout the day. Our parking facilities at Forus will be staffed with parking attendants and will be well signposted.

There are also some parking spaces available in Sola town center, but we do not have parking attendants there, and it operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

Traveling from Bergen, Stord, or Haugesund? You can easily get to Stavanger with Kystbussen(Coastal Bus), which has several daily departures in both directions and operates throughout the weekend. Search for your trip and purchase tickets by clicking the "Kystbuss" button.

We encourage the public to use public transport, such as buses, to get to Sola Airshow. There are several daily bus departures from both Stavanger and Sandnes to Sola town center.

Arrival by bike

If you're the sporty type and arrive by bicycle, we have created a dedicated parking area near Sola Airshow just for you. This parking area is for both cyclists and those arriving by motorcycle.

Sola Airshow 2024 takes place on a June weekend with a lot of commercial traffic at Stavanger Airport, Sola. Many factors must come together for the program to go as planned, so we reserve the right for changes.

Below you will find a preliminary schedule showing which aircraft will fly before and after 12:00 on both days. This schedule is subject to change at short notice.

When is Sola Airshow 2024?

Sola Airshow is held on Saturday, June 15th and Sunday, June 16th. The gates open at 08:00 and close at 18:00 both days.

The first display is around 08:30 and the last one around 17:30.
Do you have to buy tickets in advance?

Tickets can be purchased in advance online or at the gate on the same day as the airshow. The advantage of buying tickets online in advance is that you can avoid waiting in line.
When will the different aircraft fly?
+
Sola Airshow is held at Stavanger Airport where there is commercial traffic that may affect the event. Holding an airshow while regular traffic needs to maintain their schedules is a challenging task, and it requires careful planning.

Unexpected situations may arise, so we cannot guarantee with 100% certainty the exact timing of each aircraft taking to the sky.
Camping

We do not have any camper van or camping facilities organized by Sola Airshow. Individuals interested in combining Sola Airshow with camping will need to research and arrange accommodations independently in advance.
Are dogs allowed?

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at Sola Airshow. An airshow generates a significant amount of noise from fighter jets and aircraft engines, so a dog is unlikely to enjoy the experience.

Additionally, a frightened, unleashed dog can pose a safety risk.
Is the same program scheduled for both days?

The program will be approximately the same on both days. We will publish a more detailed schedule once it's finalized.
Accessibility
+
Everyone is welcome at Sola Airshow, whether you arrive on foot or in a wheelchair. If you require a wheelchair or similar assistance, we have designated handicap parking for you. Please refer to the map at the top of this page.
Companinon Card
+
At Sola Airshow, you are warmly welcome with a companion card. If you wish to use this, the person you are accompanying must have a valid ticket.
Smoking & Alcohol
+
Smoking and drinking alcohol brought from outside the event area are strictly prohibited and will result in removal from the premises.
Arriving with your own aircraft
+
We welcome visitors to come by air with their own aircraft. However, due to the size of the event at a large commercial airport there will be some limitations.
PPR will be required before and during the airshow, from Thursday 13 June 12Z (14:00LT) to Sunday 16 June 20Z (22:00) LT. PPR to be requested via https://enzv.skedda.com/. NOTAM will be published. Note that Sola does not use myppr.no.
It will not be possible to fly VFR to/from the airport during the airshow hours (08:30-17:30LT) during Saturday and Sunday.
PPR slots outside of airshow hours will be extremely limited both days.
The airshow will not be able to assist with slots for visitors.
Departure slots Sunday afternoon/evening will be extremely limited. It is best to plan for departure on Monday.
It will not be possible to park at the airshow area as this is limited to invited aircraft.
Parking will primarily be on Apron 13. Apron 5 will be used if Apron 13 is full.
Refuel your aircraft when you arrive. Expect lines for fuel at departure.
There will be no organized ground transport from the aircraft parking to the airshow area.
