XVI bygget i 1945.

The F-86 Sabre was a usual sight in Norwegian skies during the 50's and 60's. Although the Sabre was never stationed at Sola during it's tenure with the RNoAF it was a frequent visitor here. 2012 marks the year of the return of the F-86 to Norway - the only airworthy F-86A in the world. This aircraft has it's home base at Duxford in the UK.

We are very happy to be able to wish the Aerostars welcome to Sola in June. The Aerostars fly an impressively precise formation display with their Soviet aera Yak-50 and Yak-52 trainers. They have flown in Norway on several occasions, but never at Sola. The closest we came was a fly-by as they were returning home to the UK after flying the Bergen Airshow in 2005. We look forward to seeing them in June.

The Consolidated PBY Catalina was an aircraft with a long and historic operational service life in the RNoAF from 1942 -1961. Once again we welcome the appearance of Catalina G-PBYA making her journey from her homebase at Duxford to Norway in June. First stop is Rygge where she will appear at the defence forces arrangement at Horten 1 June, then Kjeller 3 June before arriving at Sola 9-10 June. Afterwards setting course for Bodø where she will fly at the Bodø Airshow 16-17 June. This "Cat" with the name "Miss Pick Up" has newly painted, authentic "nose art", and is correct for the wartime period. Read more about Miss Pick Up at the Catalina Society.
