Thank you for a fantastic weekend!

The weekend is over, and we've had an amazing two (well three if we count Friday) days at Sola. We've seen almost the entire spectre of aviation activities this weekend. The slight Bleriot XI from 1909 to superb propeller-driven aerobatics with the Extra 300 and one of a kind Pitts Python, the jet-whistle and jet-roar from the Vampire, F-16 and Gripen. Ice cream, mineral water and hot dogs were devoured on both days. Eyes filled with anticipation were directed towards the sky for 8 hours on both days.

We'd like to send a big thank you to all who helped make this airshow a success. Thank you to all participating aircraft, pilots and support personnel for a marvellous display. Thank you to the large group of volunteers from the organising clubs, the military, and other organisations who sold tickets, hot dogs, moved aircraft, and handled the many thousand other activities that need to work to pull off a successful airshow. Thank you to the over 30 000 spectators who visited the airshow on Saturday and Sunday. Thank you all!

Takk for en fantastisk helg

Helga er over og vi har opplevd fantastiske to (tre hvis vi regner med fredag) dager på Sola. Vi har opplevd nesten hele spekteret av luftaktivitet denne helga. Spinkle duktrekte Bleriot XI fra 1909 til superb propelldrevet luftakrobatikk med Extra 300 og eneste-i-verden Pitts Python. Jet-plystring og jet-brøl fra Vampire, F-16 og Gripen. Is og brus og pølser. Spente øyne rettet mot himmelen i åtte timer begge dager.

Vi ønsker å rette en stor takk til til alle som bidro til å gjøre stevnet til en suksess. Takk til deltakende fly, flygere og støttepersonell for fantastisk display. Takk til den store gruppen frivillige mannskaper både fra arrangørklubbene, militæret og fra andre organisasjoner som solgte biletter, pølser, flyttet fly og de tusenvis av andre aktivitetene som må fungere for at et slikt stevne skal bli en suksess. Og takk til de anslagsvis 30.000 publikumerne som besøkte stevnet i løpet av lørdag og søndag. Takk til dere alle sammen.

Access, parking and general info

The first flying guests have arrived at the airport (Gripen and Patrouille Suisse arrived Thursday) and the weather people predict that the airshow weather will be good.

We'd again like to emphasize the practical aspects of access and parking at the airshow. Note that several access routes near Sola is closed. Please follow directions from our staff. The price list and other practical information can be found on our information page.

If you hear engine noise today, look up. Rumors have it that several of our military guests will practice their show programme today.

Adkomst, parkering og generell info

De første flygenede gjestene har allerede innfunnet seg på Sola (Gripen og Patrouille Suisse kom torsdag) og meteorologene spår tålig bra vær.

Før det braker løs i helga vil vi bare igjen minne om det praktiske rundt adkomst og parkering i forbindelse med stevnet. Endel veier er stengt i forbindelse med stevnet. Av hensyn til annen trafikkavvikling rundt flyplassen er det viktig at publikum følger anvisningen fra funksjonærene. Prisliste og annen nyttig informasjon finner du på vår informasjonsside.

Kikk opp på himmelen hvis du hører motorlyd i løpet av fredagen. Det ryktes at flere av våre militære deltakere vil øve på programmet sitt i dag.

Sola Airshow 2007 on DVD and TV

A Sola Airshow DVD will be produced in connection with the major anniversary airshow at Sola. 6 film photographers will be at work during both days, filming the airshow. Besides the highlights from the show, the DVD will include aviation footage from NRK Rogaland's archives. We'll get the opportunity to meet the Metropolitan club again, see parts of the airshow in 1987 and much much more. The DVD will be produced by West Audit Productions in collaboration with NRK Rogaland.

Large parts of the show will be streamed on NRK Rogaland 24, a dedicated TV-channel that's distributed to Lyse Tele's TV-subscribers around the clock. It is also freely available on NRK's website.

I forbindelse med det store jubileumsstevnet på Sola vil det også bli produsert en DVD fra Sola Airshow. Under begge stevnedagene vil 6 filmfotografer være i sving på flyplassen for å filme under stevnet. Foruten det beste fra stevnet vil DVD'en inneholde flyinnslag fra NRK Rogalands arkiv. Her blir det blant annet gjensyn med Metropolitan-klubben, Flystevnet i 1987 og mye, mye mer. DVD'en produserers av West audio productions i samarbeid med NRK Rogaland.

Store deler av stevnet vil bli streamet på NRK Rogaland 24, en egen TV-kanal som distribueres til Lyse teles tv-abonnenter døgnet rundt. Den er også tilgjengelig for alle på NRKs nettsider.
